Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect when you book a class or contact us through our website or booking forms, why we collect it, and your choices.

What we collect

  • Contact details: your first and last name, email address and phone number.
  • Booking details: the class you choose, any add-ons you select, and messages you send us.
  • Payment: handled by our payment processor, Stripe, through our booking platform, HighLevel. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (like the last 4 digits of your card), but never your full card number.
  • Waiver information: your signature, emergency contact, and any allergy or medical notes you choose to share.
  • Day-of health check: your answers to a short illness screen we're required to use for food safety.
  • Photos and video taken at class, as described in the waiver (you can opt out there).
  • Website and form data: basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, collected by our booking platform, HighLevel, so our pages and forms work. We don't use analytics or advertising tools.

Why we use it

To book and run your class; send confirmations, reminders and updates; keep guests safe (allergies, health check, emergencies); keep the records food-safety and insurance rules require; handle refunds and questions; and, only if you opt in, send you news and offers.

Texts and emails

  • Texts: we only text you if you check a box agreeing to it. Class texts (confirmations, reminders, weather updates) and marketing texts are separate choices, and neither is required to book. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. You can also opt out by telling us any reasonable way, such as emailing [email protected].
  • No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
  • Emails: booking emails are sent so we can run your class. Marketing emails go only to people who opt in, and every one includes an unsubscribe link. We'll honor unsubscribes promptly (within 10 business days).

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run our business:

  • Payment processor (Stripe, through our HighLevel booking platform) to take payments and issue refunds.
  • Booking and customer-management platform (HighLevel / LeadConnector) that hosts our forms, calendar, emails and texts.
  • Our insurer, attorney or the Nevada Department of Agriculture or other authorities, when required by law, for an insurance claim or for a food-safety inspection or investigation.
  • Your bank or card issuer if you dispute a charge.

We do not sell your personal information. Nevada residents may send a request directing us not to sell their covered information to [email protected] (our designated request address). We'll respond within 60 days.

Health information (Nevada consumer health data)

Allergy or medical notes and your illness-screen answers are health information. We collect them only to provide the class you booked safely, and we use them only for that.

  • Who sees it: we limit access to the instructor and staff who need it.
  • Who it's shared with: the authorities listed above, only when the law requires.
  • How it's kept: paper forms are kept locked; digital copies are kept in our password-protected accounts.

You may ask us to:

  1. confirm whether we have your health information;
  2. list anyone we've shared it with;
  3. stop collecting or sharing it; or
  4. delete it.

Email [email protected] with the subject "Health data request." We'll verify your identity and respond within 45 days. If we can't fully delete something because the law requires us to keep it, we'll tell you why. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying "Appeal" to our answer; we'll respond in writing within 45 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Nevada Attorney General's office.

Reviewing or changing your information

Email [email protected] to see, correct or update the contact and booking information we hold about you.

Cookies and tracking

Our website and booking forms use only the cookies our booking platform, HighLevel, needs to run our pages and forms, such as remembering form entries and how you arrived at our booking page. We don't use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking tools (such as Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel), and we don't allow third parties to collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites for advertising or analytics. Our payment processor (Stripe) and our forms' spam protection (such as Google reCAPTCHA, if used) may set their own cookies and recognize your device across other sites that use their services, only for security and fraud prevention.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards: password-protected accounts with two-step login, limited staff access, a payment processor that handles card data, and locked storage for paper forms. No system is perfect; we'll notify you if a breach affects your personal information as Nevada law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Signed waivers: 6 years after the class.
  • Health-check answers: 12 months after the class, then shredded or deleted.
  • Booking and payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
  • Photos: as described in the waiver.
  • Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe.

Children

Our website and classes are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Hands-on classes are for adults 18 and over.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any update here with a new effective date. If we make a material change, we'll also email guests with upcoming bookings.
